There are many issues here. In Wisconsin, Under Wisconsin law, a first drunk driving conviction is not a crime, rather it is a civil infraction. A first OWI may result in fines ranging from $150 to $300 plus $355 surcharge with a suspension or revocation of the person's driver's license ranging between 6 and 9 months.
If you hold a Minnesota license, the Wisconsin OWI will be reported in Minnesota and Minnesota will revoke your license consistent with Minnesota law, up to a year on a refusal.
You have 10 days to contest the suspension in WI and 30 days to contest the revocation in MN.
