Subject Reasonable Suspicion for Stop

Thank you for the post.
An officer must have a reasonable, articulable suspicion of a particularlized criminal activity to stop a vehicle. Stops have been upheld where an offier runs a plate and determines the regiustered owner has a revoked license SO LONG AS the offier makes no observations that could dissuade that perception such as viewing a driver with a different gender or hair color.
The facts you relate are far less likely to support such a finding of reasonable suspicion since you were not the registered owner. Coming up as a "known affiliation" is, first of all, not a designation that I have heard is available from law enforcement databases on a simple license check. Second, stopping a vehicle where there may be a much larger population of individuals who fit the same basic discription of the revoked driver would seem to make the stop extremely suspect.
