Its mission is to create a common voice and vision for advancing high quality and accessible programs that foster the development, health and well-being of all Illinois children.

Americorps

AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve through more than 2,100 nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. They tutor and mentor youth, build affordable housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run after-school programs, and help communities respond to disasters. Created in 1993, AmeriCorps is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America. Together these programs engage more than 2 million Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service each year.

Apna Ghar

Apna Ghar is a domestic violence shelter serving primarily Asian women and children, and was the first Asian shelter of its kind in the Mid-Western United States. Apna Ghar takes its name from a Hindi-Urdu phrase meaning "Our Home", and since January 1990 has served over 3800 domestic violence clients.

Indo-American Center

The Indo-American Center was established in 1990 in response to the wide spectrum of needs in the South Asian immigrant community, one of the fastest growing immigrant communities in the Chicago area. Many of its members are affluent professionals and business owners. However, a large number lack vocational and language skills and struggle to make ends meet. While the Center's educational, cultural, social, and charitable programs serve this diverse group, its doors are open to anyone who needs help, regardless of ethnicity or language, religious or political affiliation. The center assists nearly 10,000 people annually. In addition to people from South Asia, many other ethnic groups including European, Middle Eastern and others use its services.

Inspiration Corporation

Inspiration Corporation assists people in improving their lives through the provision of social services, housing, and employment training in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
Inspiration Corporation currently encompasses two agencies: Inspiration Cafe (IC), located in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, and The Living Room Cafe (TLRC) in the Woodlawn community on the south side of Chicago. Both agencies serve meals in a restaurant-style setting, as well as providing other supportive services designed to help individuals on their journey toward self-sufficiency. Inspiration employs a concept of therapeutic community, where the community of people in common effort is the healing agent for the individual. This unique milieu is what makes Inspiration the safe, supportive and motivational environment unlike any other in Chicago and impacts the lives of guests for years.
Together, the Cafes have the resources to assist approximately 260 individuals annually.
